multimessage

History

Formed in 1989 by Tom Cunnane, Multimessage Systems established a reputation for the design and manufacture of innovative and high performance digital voice announcers. Previously a quality manager at National Telecoms, Tom bought his knowledge and experience to create a business around high quality finished products, be it manufactured or repaired.

At this time, Multimessage also developed a range of small PABX systems to satisfy the unique needs of our customers. A commitment to research and development, based on innovative and proven engineering, has been a key factor in the successful growth of the company. This has been reflected in a customer base that includes manufacturers, network providers, government departments, retail chains, major clearing banks, cinema chains and utility companies.

Repairs have always been a key part of our business even whilst we created our own voice announcers. In 1992, the business expanded and our contract repair service was established to meet the needs of a major UK telecommunications provider. In the following 5 years the business kept growing and by 1997 the business operated out of 5 Units and was a repair partner for SDX Index equipment.

In 2000, the company was awarded a major repair contract for Avaya IP Office and certified as an Avaya repair partner. To accomodate the growth of the business, we moved to a two acre site, initially taking on two units to be able to fullfill the increases in repair volume and staff that moved over to MM from Avaya.

As we settled into our new surroundings, we set about targeting new business and new equipment to repair. Using the skilled workforce in place, the company quickly established repair procedures for a greater range of equipment, from desk and dect handsets to power supplies, servers, routers, and switches, it was around this time that we added data and networking equipment to our portfolio.

In 2006 we expanded again and utilised all 4 units alongside our sister company Multistorage who manage the logistics services we provide for our customers.

As the approved repair centre for Avaya IP Office and Index products we have a multinational customer base and supply repairs and spares internationally. Multimessage is also an approved BT repair centre and in 2012 partnered with Pragma Distribution to provide Ericsson-LG approved repairs and support legacy LG equipment for Pragma partners.

Working with such prestigious manufacturers and maintainers of Telecoms, data and networking equipment is a result of the high quality service we provide, having well trained engineers and a dedicated team to support our customers.

In 2015 the company started to invest and put a lot of resource into research and development into core network equipment. With our innovative approach and reverse engineering expertise the company soon established industry credibility and a reputation to repair core network equipment. This was illustrated further in 2019 when Multimessage provided cutting edge repair of Infinera 500G line cards, that had previously been reported as unrepairable by other European repair centres. Recently the company has expanded its prestaging facility, increasing in size by over 600% to allow for expansion and new opportunities to support channel partners.
